CP44 inspection checklist
A little preparation helps your CP44 inspection go smoothly and reduces the chance of a fail.
What the engineer checks
- All gas appliances: griddles, fryers, ovens, hobs and pizza ovens
- LPG cylinders, regulators and hoses, including hose age and condition
- Pipework and gas tightness
- Ventilation in the unit
- Flame failure devices
- Cylinder storage, which should be secure, upright and ventilated
How to prepare
- Have at least one connected cylinder with gas in it
- Make sure the engineer can reach every appliance and the cylinder locker
- Check your hoses for cracks and their date marks
- Clean grease from appliances and vents
- Have your previous CP44 to hand, if you have one
Common reasons for a fail
The most common issues are old or damaged hoses, missing flame failure devices, poor ventilation and cylinders stored inside the unit without proper ventilation.
